ELROW, THE FAMILY OF HAPPINESS
Elrow is a family business with six generations dedicated to the organization of venues, events and parties of all kinds. Its history is that of a lineage, yes, that of the Satorres-Durán-Arnau, but it is also the history of a very personal way of understanding leisure that has gone around the world thanks to multitudinous events such as the Monegros Desert Festival or the Elrow theme parties that flourish in the most remote corners of the planet.
The graphic novel Elrow is a tribute in vignettes to the history of this family devoted to happiness (their own and others'), but it is also an account of all the changes that the leisure industry has undergone over the last 150 years.
Written by scriptwriter Xavier Morató and drawn by Josep Giró, this 200-page, full-color graphic novel was created at the express wish of Juan Arnau Senior with the support of his entire family. Its aim is to tell the story of this family saga since the founding of the Josepet café by his ancestor José Satorres.
It was the first step in the construction of an authentic entertainment empire, a creative empire and at the same time very sensitive to the variations in the tastes of the public, an empire capable of instantly materializing those desires by incorporating them immediately into its events, as if instead of a leisure company it were a lamp of desires. The plot takes us to the year 2017, with Juan Arnau telling his months-old grandson the story of the family clan. In this story, Juan will travel in the three directions of time (past, present and future) accompanied on each journey by an exceptional entertainer: the incomparable master Xavier Cugat, the French DJ Laurent Garnier and the endearing Rowgelia, Elrow's official mascot. The result is a fun review of a dynasty marked by affection, effort and a great capacity for innovation.
